She says it’s a “small number of anonymous online bloggers” it’s not small, it’s a large number and the reason they are anonymous is because they are too frightened in their own country to put their names to posts in the fear of being branded racist or BNP which could result in them losing their jobs which has been the case as reported recently in the press or worse going to gaol as that is how fascist this country has become under the socialists.
The people behind our site have never posted on any newspaper website so we have no axe to grind on that issue but defend the rights of those who have been banned. One of our number has posted on www.wiganworld.com. That person was banned for no good reason. They DID NOT post anti muslim attacks but were very forthright in their debates on the pro Socialist, pro Wigan Labour Council message boards. The reason for their banning was claimed because of bad language but that was utter balderdash as their language was no worse than the majority and far far better than many who if you visit the site yourself will find still posting such. With numerous requests to show them where the bad language occured they still await a reply.
We suspect the reason that people are being banned from local websites is not because of “racist” posting but political interference either local, national or both. If people have a legitimate grievence they should be allowed to express it without censorship however uncomfortable for the politicians, if it is uncomfortable then the politicians should look to themselves and no one else. The politicians have the right to reply on all blogs that I know of but are too frightened so as you expect with fascists they censor. They claim that all this posting is racist well we have to take their word seeing as we can’t read it and as adults make up our own mind if it is or isn’t.
The issue over halal meat is dismissed by Ms Nandy as a non issue. This shows exactly were she and the socialist PC brigade are coming from as it’s not an issue for a Muslim but IT IS an issue FOR THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY it is a CHRISTIAN COUNTRY and furthermore it brings religion into schools that most socialists are against doing – the hypocrits.

Why would anyone want to whip up fear and suspicion? Then more importantly fear and suspicion of what may I ask? The real answer to that question might just be a clue. Not all people on these blogs are “Right wing fascists” they are people who see what is happening around them and JUST WANT ANSWERS which the politicians will not give them. These bloggers are being called shit stirrers, well my answer to that is very very simple - that even if some of it is “shit stirring” there should be NO SHIT TO STIR.
WE ARE NOT RACISTS or prejudiced which is the correct word and would object in the strongest terms to being branded either. We believe that colour or creed plays no part in what it is to be British. The definition of being British is – us first everybody else second and to look at the rest of the world from the inside outwards, that is what binds a nation and people together. That said this is a christian COUNTRY and has been for over a thousand years. The queen is head of state and defender of the faith. This does not mean that people of other faiths cannot be British for example the Jews have done pretty well in this country with half the tory leadership AND Wallace “Red Ed” Miliband Labour leader being from Hebrew extraction, WITHOUT human rights legislation, anti discrimination laws and politically correct fascism whose implementation in this country has created the situation we have now of the tail wagging the dog hence the obscene scenes of poppy burning without arrests and the court case involving the muslim woman who stabbed an MP were her supporters threatened and insulted the judge, why were they not held in contempt of court? These are not racist rants but genuine concerns of British people about the law being applied only one way or in many reported instances NOT AT ALL.
The divisiveness of muticulturalism is driving any prejudice against Muslims and Lisa Nandy and the Multiculturalists must look to themselves and not keep throwing the word racist at anyone who happens to feel a need to express grievence at what’s happening in THEIR country.
We challenge Ms Nandy to have an open debate on this site and face the very real issues that HER CONSTITUENTS have. We will set up a forum for that purpose anytime or FOR ANY politician if it comes to that. We will moderate it only to stop spam and she/they can answer the difficult questions that the socialists have avoided for the last 30yrs and continue to avoid. We are real democrats and can stand and defend what we believe anywhere anytime. If Arnold Swarzenegger can find time to have a daily 20min twitter chat with the voters of California there is no reason our politicians can’t do the same

What Lisa Nandy and the socialists just fail to grasp is the understanding of the fundemental right of free speech and rights of individuals in a democracy. The American constitution has it’s prime and most cherished 1st amendment that guarantees free speech however uncomfortable unlike the Socialist Lisbon charter where rights to freedom of speech are nowhere to be seen ….. even in the small print. Free speech has and is being strangled by politically correct left wing fascists in this country and politicians trying to hide what their real agenda is. To support this assertion I had a conversation with an editor from a national magazine who told me that the laws in this country are so draconian that American lawyers (Yes! from the litigation capital of the world) name London, quote:

Well it’s happened, the children of Pietown have had enough and turned on their elders. It started when little Jake Thomas (18mths) saw the last local election results in his fathers newspaper. He was appalled at what so called grown ups were doing to his town and country. He then set about networking kids with similar ideas as his own in pre schools and nurseries throughout the borough forming this group into the new right of centre political pressure group” RIGHT not LEFT” having their first official conference at the sand pit Mesnes Park today. It’s an organisation of like minded with the sole aim of putting an end once for all to grown ups voting Labour.
Little Jake Thomas (18mths) now official elected leader of the group said:
We are sick of it, it’s plain unadulterated stupidity that grown up Wigan people continue to vote Labour ….. I ask you …… have they no sense? In Pie Town it’s being claimed that Lisa Nandy Wigan MP is having photo shoots and using photo opportunities to create an image of being proud to represent Wigan and concerned about it’s constituents welfare and that she is not at all a political mercenary whose only interest in Wigan is that it’s a solid Labour seat and the perfect vehicle to further her socialist career being tipped as Labour’s first female leader.
Normally it would not be something to get too surprised about as all politicians do it but what is surprising is it’s claimed that Lisa Nandy is using doctored pictures. This is an example showing her “out and about” in Wigan outside the Parish church in the town centre which from this picture should be renamed “The leaning tower of Pietown”. It’s from “Lisa Nandy’s photostream” on flikr.com and it looks very much a fake to me as the lighting is all wrong and looks like she has been superimposed on the scene. Another thing is she looks a good 2 – 3 stone lighter and hasn’t the massive breasts she has now. I could be wrong on this one but the clothes she is wearing appear to be the same as in photographs taken of her before she became Wigan MP. Airbrushing is one thing a complete fake if true is what’s called a lie I believe. It’s not the only one that’s dodgy and would suggest that any readers peruse the site themelves and make up their own mind.

It’s been claimed that the Socialist and Liberal nanny brigade have been quietly but systematically introducing to British society eugenics by the “smart frog dumb frog” method.
The reasoning for this is that the massive savings for the NHS and benefits system plus the improvement in social standards by removing The sick, disabled, mentally ill, low IQ, drug addicts, tramps, low lifes, fat and ugly makes it a very attractive policy.
A Socialist/Liberal spokesperson said:
The improvements for society and quality of life by phasing this in softly softly is plain. Anyone in their right mind can see the very real benefits that eugenics can bring. Lets stop pussyfooting around with smoking bans, salt bans as in Stockport or food lableing etc and go the whole hog. We have to get real on this issue, we have tried forcing people by law to live HOW WE WANT them to live for their own good but it just aint working so lets get rid of the problem PERMANENTLY by declaring war on the weak, fat and ugly. It’s a new future, it’s a new world full of beautiful healthy people without the hassle.

It’s been claimed the PC brigade that has INFECTED the whole of UK society is conducting a policy of fear, terror and intimidation directed at the CHILDREN of this country.

It’s called “Pick and choose policing” and it works like this:
If a police officer is not happy in enforcing a law, policing an area or has any other objection to the duties he/she does then THEY DON’T HAVE TO DO IT.
This as far as I am aware has like other stories not been reported in the UK press and media but has been in the land of the free. It’s just utter bollox.
I’ve Said it before and I’ll say it again this site was never set for Muslim bashing, it still isn’t. I dont blame the Muslims I blame the politicians with their obscene and corrupt politics for letting nay encouraging these things to be allowed.
Come on Lisa Nandy MP get a forum up were you can defend things like this to your constituants. Furious … Amy’s father Paul HoustonJudges sitting at the Upper Tribunal of the Immigration and Asylum Chamber in Manchester rejected a final appeal by the UK Border Agency to have Ibrahim deported.
Ibrahim, who has convictions for drugs possession, burglary, harassment, criminal damage and theft along with a string of driving convictions, killed Amy in November 2003 after running off from the scene of the accident while she was stuck under the wheels of his car.
She was rushed to hospital but her dad was forced to turn off her life support machine after doctors told him she would never recover.
Since then Paul has campaigned for Ibrahim to be kicked out the country and begged judges at a recent deportation hearing to bring “my seven years of hell to an end” by sending the monster back to Iraq.
He added: “All he is is a criminal. He was before he killed Amy and he will continue to be one.
“The Human Rights Act is for everybody, not just asylum seekers and terrorists. It just seems to be used to allow people to get what they want.
“He says if he was deported he would be deprived of his right to a family life?
“The only person deprived of a family life is me. Amy was my only family. He took that from me.”
In a final plea to two senior immigration judges, Paul, who is divorced from Amy’s mother, wrote: “Amy was my only child… due to medical reasons I am unable to have any more children.
“Amy was and is my family, so my point is, it is my right to a family life that has been deprived and not Mr Ibrahim’s.
“Mr Ibrahim claims to be a family man but if it’s your actions that define who you are and not your words, then offences for possession of drugs, burglary, harassment, damage to property and theft as well as driving convictions and my daughter’s death, you could argue that Mr Ibrahim is a negative influence as a role model as a father.
“I cannot understand by letting Mr Ibrahim remain in the UK what benefits he could bring to society.
“Had he shown some real remorse for what he had done and not committed any more crimes, I could accept that this was just an accident.
“On the evening of November 23 2003 Mr Ibrahim struck Amy, he didn’t kill her outright, she was still conscious.
“She was fully aware what was happening around her even though she had the full weight of the engine block of the car on top of her, she was crying because she was frightened and in a lot of pain … he could have at least tried to help.
“Amy suffered for six hours before the doctors advised me to switch off the life support machine … it was highly unlikely she would survive and if she was to live would be a ‘cabbage’.
“The image of Amy taking her final breath, dying a foot away from me as I sat by her bedside holding her hand praying for a miracle will stay with me till the day I die.
“If the Human Rights Act is about fairness, then it must have balance. What about Amy’s right to life under the act?
“Today you have the power to bring my seven years of hell to an end; you can bring closure and justice.
“You can stop Mr Ibrahim from destroying anybody else’s life as he destroyed mine but most of all you can bring balance to the Human Rights Act.
“You can show the world that this act is not just for criminals, failed asylum seekers and terrorists but for everybody in society because without balance there is no justice.”
Lawyers for Ibrahim argued that his human rights would be impinged if he was sent back to Iraq.

This site was never set up for muslim bashing or any religious or ethnic group but there are serious questions that need to answered with DA-Notice enforcement rumoured to be rife and after reading this on the teletext today. Just what is going on in this country at all?

The news comes after six men, believed to be connected to the English Defence League, were arrested for inciting racial hatred after burning a Koran in September and posting footage on YouTube.
The Koran burned by the girl is reported to have been an English language version of the book.

Deep in the centre of Pie Town a growing number of the public are now coming to believe that the real troublemakers behind the recent student riots are the Socialist Labour Party. It’s claimed that “Fear and Suspicion” has been “Whipped up” by them and their subversive supporters regardless of how baseless their accusations that the Tories and democrats are to blame for the rises in tuition fees etc.

What it is to be British
Having been accused of being a bunch of racists, by left wing loonies of course, that have as much understanding of democracy as my neighbours cat has about E=mc2 , we thought it would be a good idea to put in writing what we think it means to be British.
- Colour is not an issue
- Religion is not an issue
- Origin of culture is not an issue
- To believe this country to be my home and to defend it against all others. To look from the inside outwards on the world
- To accept this country as it has been for over a thousand years as a christian country who’s head of state is the defender of the faith and to fit into that country.
- The two things that really matter
Britain has always as a nation been a mixture of peoples with different faiths living together with one set of laws and rules. The Roman empire is always given as an example for multiculturalism and this is true but there was one law ROMAN LAW and you had to fit in.
Jews, Chinese and many other peoples have come to this country and succeeded and fitted in with our Christian society. Half the Tory party leadership is jewish and thats no problem to us as they are as British as chicken tikka masala

In some respects I feel sorry for the woman as she doesn’t really understand what it means to be truly British. It’s us first then everybody else second. Irrespective of colour or creed it’s about looking at the world from the inside outwards, thats what makes you british and binds a nation together . Durkin’s film lived up to expectations. I doubt that the Guardian will be using the particular ad hominum attack of calling him a communist again, indeed that particular attack was absent from their review as indeed was anything else factual because “Obviously I have not the time, space or qualifications to consider the validity of this here, but…”

The best, or most awful according to taste, was his interviews with a number of British Labour politicians whom he asked to say how much the current national debt, which they had been responsible for doubling, was. None of them could. The worst flatly refused to give a figure, on saying that is a question for economists. The better ones made a guess at £150-£200 billion – they were probably thinking of the annual increase in it. Cathy Jamieson (MP, MSP & former Scottish Minister for Education & then Justice) has been the butt of sketches on Tadio Scotland which made her appear to be a particularly ignorant wee wifey eg “Aw Bernard (well known interviewer) Quantitative Easing you say. Ah’ll tell ye about quantitative easing. When ma man gaes to the toilet he stinks the place oot for an ‘oor wi’ quantative easing.” The real lady appears little better informed. It is difficult to criticise Chinese dictatorship when “democracy” here puts buffoons like that in charge.
While impressed with the programme I think he understated both problem & opportunity. The facts are that not only does the state spend 53% of the economy as he said but that government regulation destroys another 100% of our current economy. 75% of the cost of housing & electricity are due to government restrictions. As a general economic rule the cost to the regulated is 20 times the cost to government of employing regulators. The EU has admitted that their regulations destroy 5.5% of Europe’s potential GNP. Taken together, without the parasites the total economy could double.

Much of the latter part of the programme was given over to a comparison with Hong Kong which has been the ideal of economic freedom. That included an appreciation of the little known Scot (at least little known in Scotland though deeply respected in Hong Kong & China) Sir John Cowperthwaite.
At some point during our first conversation I managed to irk him by suggesting that he was chiefly known “for doing nothing.” In fact, he pointed out, keeping the British political busy-bodies from interfering in Hong Kong’s economic affairs took up a large portion of his time. Throughout Sir John’s tenure in office, the British political elite tried to impose its own ailing socialist economic model on Britain’s colonies, including Hong Kong. Sir John managed to quash all such attempts and Hong Kong benefited as a result. In 2004, the World Bank estimated, Hong Kong’s per capita income adjusted for purchasing power parity (GNI PPP) was $31,510. Great Britain’s 2004 GNI PPP was $31,460.
I conjecture that it was Hong Kong’s obviously successful experiment with laissez-faire that helped to steel the nerves of Britain’s Iron Lady, Baroness Thatcher, as she prepared to rescue her once-great country from the socialist rot. Hong Kong, a colony, lit the way for Britain, the homeland. Moreover, Hong Kong’s success was vital in convincing the Chinese Communist Party that socialism was a historical dead end. Capitalist countries lead best when they lead by example, and what better example for a slave society of over a billion people than an island of freedom and prosperity right on its doorstep? Turning Hong Kong into an example worthy for China to emulate — that, I believe, is Sir John’s greatest legacy.
What about Sir John, the man? One story, I think, says it all. As a senior civil servant, Sir John was once presented with a sum of tax-payer money to upgrade his residence in Hong Kong. He refused. He told me that he could not accept a housing subsidy since that was a largess denied to other residents of the colony. In his personal conduct, just as in his economic policies, Sir John set the standard for future generations of public officials.
Cowperthwaite attended Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh, Scotland, and later studied classics at St Andrews University and Christ’s College, Cambridge. Whatever the ignorant buffoons running Scotland say he represents a deeper & longer lasting Scottish cultural tradition than their thieving parasitic “socialism” ever could.

It’s claimed by the council that “it was for diversity needs”. Big news frumt big ‘all this week is that the Communist Action Party and the Liberal Acrobats coalition has been dissolved. Former group leader Councillor Raul Rushingham said the decision had been taken because of the Lib Acrobat’s coalition with the Conservatives to form a national Government.

An insider says the blame for the latest unfounded accusations lay firmly at the feet of the right wing fascists in the town trying to play the race card.

I suspect that she is not a Muslim but cannot find any reference to her religion and until she lays her cards on the table and declares what it is these rumours will persist giving ammunition to the racists in the town. If she is a muslim and hiding it then the racists will have a field day and will be another total cock up by the hammer and sickle party not because she is Muslim but because they hid it supporting the opinion of a great number of the Wigan public including me that they are decietful, underhand manipulative liars.

According to Stan Liebowitz, the Ashbel Smith professor of Economics in the Business School at the University of Texas at Dallas, the sub-prime mortgage crisis was caused by political correctness and social engineering.
Summary
Do-gooders have long complained that banks discriminated against minorities and the poor when granting mortgages. They persuaded Congress to amended the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act so that data could be collected to prove this. A subsequent study of this data was used to prove discrimination so that bank regulators required banks to lend money to these under privileged groups. The Democratic Party, led at the time by President Bill Clinton threatened to prosecute banks who didn’t comply with the regulators demands.
It seems to have escaped the attention of these regulators that the real reason loans were turned down was the fact that the financial standing of the applicants didn’t stand up to scrutiny. Or if it did then they seemed to have not wanted to incur the wrath of the PC Brigade by sticking to commonsense.
Now that these poor people are having their houses repossessed and being made homeless, predictably the PC Brigade are blaming everyone but themselves. When will these mindless do-gooders realise that things are as they are in the world for a very good reason and stop meddling!!
Twice Conservatives tried to get this madness stopped (2003 & 2005) and twice their Bills were outvoted by the Democrats, led by Barak Obama – who incidentally was a young lawyer at ACORN when the original cry of discrimination went up!

THE REAL SCANDAL – HOW FEDS INVITED THE MORTGAGE MESS
By STAN LIEBOWITZ
Perhaps the greatest scandal of the mortgage crisis is that it is a direct result of an intentional loosening of underwriting standards – done in the name of ending discrimination, despite warnings that it could lead to wide-scale defaults. At the crisis’ core are loans that were made with virtually nonexistent underwriting standards – no verification of income or assets; little consideration of the applicant’s ability to make payments; no down payment.
Most people instinctively understand that such loans are likely to be unsound. But how did the heavily-regulated banking industry end up able to engage in such foolishness? From the current hand-wringing, you’d think that the banks came up with the idea of looser underwriting standards on their own, with regulators just asleep on the job. In fact, it was the regulators who relaxed these standards – at the behest of community groups and “progressive” political forces.
In the 1980s, groups such as the activists at ACORN began pushing charges of “redlining” – claims that banks discriminated against minorities in mortgage lending. In 1989, sympathetic members of Congress got the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act amended to force banks to collect racial data on mortgage applicants; this allowed various studies to be ginned up that seemed to validate the original accusation. In fact, minority mortgage applications were rejected more frequently than other applications – but the overwhelming reason wasn’t racial discrimination, but simply that minorities tend to have weaker finances. Yet a “landmark” 1992 study from the Boston Fed concluded that mortgage-lending discrimination was systemic.
That study was tremendously flawed – a colleague and I later showed that the data it had used contained thousands of egregious typos, such as loans with negative interest rates. Our study found no evidence of discrimination. Yet the political agenda triumphed – with the president of the Boston Fed saying no new studies were needed, and the US comptroller of the currency seconding the motion. No sooner had the ink dried on its discrimination study than the Boston Fed, clearly speaking for the entire Fed, produced a manual for mortgage lenders stating that: “discrimination may be observed when a lender’s underwriting policies contain arbitrary or outdated criteria that effectively disqualify many urban or lower-income minority applicants.”
Some of these “outdated” criteria included the size of the mortgage payment relative to income, credit history, savings history and income verification. Instead, the Boston Fed ruled that participation in a credit-counseling program should be taken as evidence of an applicant’s ability to manage debt. Sound crazy? You bet. Those “outdated” standards existed to limit defaults. But bank regulators required the loosened underwriting standards, with approval by politicians and the chattering class. A 1995 strengthening of the Community Reinvestment Act required banks to find ways to provide mortgages to their poorer communities. It also let community activists intervene at yearly bank reviews, shaking the banks down for large pots of money. Banks that got poor reviews were punished; some saw their merger plans frustrated; others faced direct legal challenges by the Justice Department.
Flexible lending programs expanded even though they had higher default rates than loans with traditional standards. On the Web, you can still find CRA loans available via ACORN with “100 percent financing . . . no credit scores . . . undocumented income . . . even if you don’t report it on your tax returns.” Credit counseling is required, of course. Ironically, an enthusiastic Fannie Mae Foundation report singled out one paragon of nondiscriminatory lending, which worked with community activists and followed “the most flexible underwriting criteria permitted.”
That lender’s $1 billion commitment to low-income loans in 1992 had grown to $80 billion by 1999 and $600 billion by early 2003. Who was that virtuous lender? Why – Countrywide, the nation’s largest mortgage lender, recently in the headlines as it hurtled toward bankruptcy. In an earlier newspaper story extolling the virtues of relaxed underwriting standards, Countrywide’s chief executive bragged that, to approve minority applications that would otherwise be rejected “lenders have had to stretch the rules a bit.” He’s not bragging now.
For years, rising house prices hid the default problems since quick refinances were possible. But now that house prices have stopped rising, we can clearly see the damage caused by relaxed lending standards. This damage was quite predictable: “After the warm and fuzzy glow of ‘flexible underwriting standards’ has worn off, we may discover that they are nothing more than standards that lead to bad loans . . . these policies will have done a disservice to their putative beneficiaries if . . . they are dispossessed from their homes.” I wrote that, with Ted Day, in a 1998 academic article. Sadly, we were spitting into the wind.
These days, everyone claims to favor strong lending standards. What about all those self-righteous newspapers, politicians and regulators who were intent on loosening lending standards? As you might expect, they are now self-righteously blaming those, such as Countrywide, who did what they were told.
Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets — including the New York metropolitan region — will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring.
Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates — anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans.
”Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990′s by reducing down payment requirements,” said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae’s chairman and chief executive officer. ”Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.”
Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market.
In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980′s.
”From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,” said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ”If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.”
Under Fannie Mae’s pilot program, consumers who qualify can secure a mortgage with an interest rate one percentage point above that of a conventional, 30-year fixed rate mortgage of less than $240,000 — a rate that currently averages about 7.76 per cent. If the borrower makes his or her monthly payments on time for two years, the one percentage point premium is dropped.
Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, does not lend money directly to consumers. Instead, it purchases loans that banks make on what is called the secondary market. By expanding the type of loans that it will buy, Fannie Mae is hoping to spur banks to make more loans to people with less-than-stellar credit ratings.
Fannie Mae officials stress that the new mortgages will be extended to all potential borrowers who can qualify for a mortgage. But they add that the move is intended in part to increase the number of minority and low income home owners who tend to have worse credit ratings than non-Hispanic whites.
Home ownership has, in fact, exploded among minorities during the economic boom of the 1990′s. The number of mortgages extended to Hispanic applicants jumped by 87.2 per cent from 1993 to 1998, according to Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. During that same period the number of African Americans who got mortgages to buy a home increased by 71.9 per cent and the number of Asian Americans by 46.3 per cent.
In contrast, the number of non-Hispanic whites who received loans for homes increased by 31.2 per cent.
Despite these gains, home ownership rates for minorities continue to lag behind non-Hispanic whites, in part because blacks and Hispanics in particular tend to have on average worse credit ratings.
In July, the Department of Housing and Urban Development proposed that by the year 2001, 50 percent of Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s portfolio be made up of loans to low and moderate-income borrowers. Last year, 44 percent of the loans Fannie Mae purchased were from these groups.
The change in policy also comes at the same time that HUD is investigating allegations of racial discrimination in the automated underwriting systems used by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to determine the credit-worthiness of credit applicants.
This is what happens when do gooders interfere by using the law. Political correctness is a socialist disease and this sounds all too familiar as banks are being pressured in this country to loan to businesses. These businesses are already struggling because of the recession so are we just going to the same destination but by a different route?
